MANITOBA AIR BRAKE PRACTICE TEST 03
Air brakes are a critical component in the safe operation of commercial vehicles in Manitoba, Canada.
Since the introduction of the mandatory air brake endorsement in 1996, all drivers of commercial vehicles with air brakes must pass a practical and written test to receive this endorsement. The practical test evaluates the driver’s ability to conduct a pre-trip inspection of the air brake system, perform a brake check, and complete a controlled stop. The written test covers the theory and operation of air brakes, including the various components involved in the system and how they work together to slow and stop a vehicle safely. Furthermore, Manitoba government officials recognize the importance of keeping air brake training and endorsement requirements up to date with current industry standards. As such, Manitoba is one of the few jurisdictions in North America that has implemented mandatory air brake endorsement renewals for commercial drivers. By ensuring that drivers are knowledgeable and trained on air brake systems, Manitoba is proactively promoting road safety for all Manitobans.
